Tender Chinese Broccoli (Gai Lan)
My favorite veggie is "gai lan," also known as "Chinese broccoli" or "Chinese kale." It is easily found in Asian groceries these days, and I love the stuff! It doesn't taste like North American broccoli, no sir... I haven't been able to pin down exactly what other veggie it tastes like, but I do believe it resembles tender, tasty artichoke heart. Give it a try! The recipe below is how I make it, although you can also steam it.

Crunchy Broccoli Salad
I usually make this at Christmas. When made with red bell peppers, it has a nice green, red, and white color. This sweet and crunchy salad is sometimes it's best the day after being made.

Oh no! not broccoli!
Posted on July 10th, 2010
Oh No! Not Broccoli! I read an article in the paper which stated that broccoli contains a chemical which kills on contact that bacteria which causes stomach ulcers. I don't care for broccoli, but that is too good a situation to pass up. So I devised this to cover up the flavor and render that ugly vegetable palatable. It worked better than I anticipated. It's really rather good. Give it a try! by Clifford Boren

A great change of pace when you want something a little different. Guaranteed to make your tastebuds happy. This recipe came from a cookbood titled Recipes, Legends, and Such from Pickles Gap Village in Arkansas. Prep time will be longer if you use the onions and cheese.

Broccoli Casserole This recipe was given to me by my husband's Aunt Julia. It has been in the family for years. We serve it at all the family gatherings The children love it and are disappointed if someone doesn't make it. I double this to take to potlucks and always get asked for the recipe. This make be refrigerated or frozen before cooking. by Haileysgrndma
