Microwaved baked egg custard
Posted on July 13th, 2010
Microwaved ' Baked' Egg Custard A quick easy egg custard for times when comfort food is needed. **Note.....This recipe is for a 700wt microwave. For other wattage ovens check your book that came with it for guidelines. For my new Panasonic 1200wt oven which has 1-10 power levels, I heat milk on Hi (100%power) for the 3mins then for cooking I use P3 (30% power)and cook at this level for 15mins, then leave to stand covered for 5mins. As all ovens are different this is a guide only. Experiments may be needed to get the best result. by Jen T

Creamy Baked Asparagus and Peas
This makes a nice home-style side dish, without the use of actual fatty cream, since flour is used to thicken milk instead.

I adore fresh salmon. The cream cheese topping, keeps the salmon moist. As it melts, the flavors of the herbs and vegetables encases the fish steaks.

Baked Potato Soup
The first time I ever tried Baked Potato Soup was at a restaurant called "Pargos" and it was absolutely wonderful. So I searched for the recipe and found it online at cookingcache.com, and make my own little additions and subtractions. No one would EVER know this is low fat. I want more...

The potato chip (potato crisp, to the Brits) topping sets this casserole apart from the crowd. The last time I made this, I used Old Bay Seasoning-flavoured chips.

Baked Fudge Dessert
This a recipe I found in my mom's cookbook. I've never tried it but it does sound wonderful and pretty easy to make. The cooking time is an estimate, since my mother only wrote "until done".

Boston baked beans

Boston Baked Beans
As with any other dish, there are varying schools of thought on Boston Baked Beans. There's your bacon vs. salt pork, your molasses vs. maple syrup, etc. This is my mother's recipe, which I ate all through my childhood, so to me this is how BBB should taste. Live dangerously -- make these once just the way the recipe says before you start fiddling with 'em.

Although I like this best using malt vinegar, tarragon vinegar also gives a delicious result. Prep time includes time to steam the crabs. This is a modified Welsh recipe.

Baked Club Sandwich Rounds
This recipe is from the Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest. (Phil Capaldi's) I made it for my daughters and granddaughters this weekend. They all enjoyed it. It was different from what I usually make and fun. I am not sure how much meat I put on though - just dumped. I also used some provolone on half and it was good too. Thought I might try tomatoes and mustard. Don't know what it would do for sure.
