Almost like dessert Honey and Brown Sugar Glazed Carrot Pennies
Honey-brown sugar glaze enhances the natural sweetness of carrots. Flecks of parsley add color and flavor. This recipe is sweet enough to be served as a healthy desert! But I don't suppose the kids would comply... :-) This is a good way to have your "dessert" and eat "healthy" too!

Basic garlic butter brussels sprouts

Basic Garlic Butter Brussels Sprouts So many people think they don't like brussels sprouts - it's sad, because they're such a wonderfully tasty vegetable! I figure they must have had them prepared badly when they were younger, because everybody I fix them for change their minds about them. My latest conquest was my husband, who thought he didn't like them, either. He has since changed his mind, of course. by Julesong

Simmered leeks
Posted on July 13th, 2010
Simmered Leeks This is my favorite way to prepare leeks. You can eat it by itself or use as a topping for steak, chicken, or fish, and you can also add sliced mushrooms! Either way, it's a delicious addition to dinner. (The companion recipe to this one is recipe #100417 - or you can add cabbage to this recipe to combine them!) by Julesong

This makes a nice home-style side dish, without the use of actual fatty cream, since flour is used to thicken milk instead.

Rita's Deviled Eggs This recipe is from my friend, Rita. They are always the first to go at parties. I'm always up for a new twist on deviled eggs, so I was so happy to get the recipe from her. They are the best I have ever had (including my own:( Yummy! You can add a little more mayo if you prefer a creamier filling. by Manda

Candie's Party Sausage
Originally, the sausage was meant to be served on a roll. But so many people felt compelled to have a sample before it could be served, that I started cutting it up and serving it as part of a buffet or cookout appetizer. You can use more or less sausage, depending on number of servings you need. Candie is my SIL and this is her recipe.

Mommy Mc Muffins : ) My family prefers these over McDonalds any day! (They came up with the name :) Since there are six of us, the recipe makes six, but of course you can make as many as you like. I sometimes use bacon, ham or sausage instead of the Canadian bacon, whatever I happen to have! Sometimes we even have these for a quick dinner, but they are mostly a weekend breakfast treat! by Karen=^..^=
