Stuffed Caramel Walnuts from Cleopatra
Cleopatra (69 a.C - 30 a.C), the Egyptian queen of legendary beauty, was famous for her amatorial charms that rendered her irresistible to the men who met her. She had a child with Caesar, Cesarione, then, after Caesar's assassination she fell in love with Anthony causing much jealousy amongst the Roman Senators many of whom accused her of being a witch. Anthony, stabbed by Octavius, dies in her arms and Cleopatra, realising her end was near lets herself be poisoned by an asp. This recipe has been deciphered from a hieroglyphic. These sweets were served at wedding banquets and given their high energy value, we imagine that Cleopatra offered them to her lovers to restore their spirits.

Nuts, oats and seeds are combined here in a honey glaze. For added sweetness, mix in chocolate-coated candy pieces. Great for instant energy! Warning: This can be realllllly addictive, but indulge all you like, because this is healthy too! This is from www.meals.com.

Crispy Pita Pizzas with Olives and Sun-Dried Tomatoes
I discovered pita bread at a new store here, and totally fell in love with it! After trying a few recipes on Zaar and posting a request on the message boards, I decided to make an attempt at originality, and came up with this for lunch today. Even if I do say so myself, it's reallllly yum :-) Try it, you won't be disappointed!

Grilled chicken wings

Grilled Chicken Wings The marinade is simply wonderful and so easy. If you bite into one of these hot off the grill the rest may not make it into the house! Make extras because the kids will eat them cold the next day. I marinated the wings for 6 hours to overnight. I also use 1 tablespoon of fresh ginger finely grated instead of ground ginger. by Charlotte J

Tender chinese broccoli (gai lan)

Tender Chinese Broccoli (Gai Lan)
My favorite veggie is "gai lan," also known as "Chinese broccoli" or "Chinese kale." It is easily found in Asian groceries these days, and I love the stuff! It doesn't taste like North American broccoli, no sir... I haven't been able to pin down exactly what other veggie it tastes like, but I do believe it resembles tender, tasty artichoke heart. Give it a try! The recipe below is how I make it, although you can also steam it.

Curried Chicken Salad with Fruit and Pecans
Elegant and rich with a creamy, buttery texture, this is the best chicken salad I've ever eaten! The original recipe was served at Yankee Peddler's Tea Room in Missouri and I've adjusted to taste. This is an excellent chicken salad for croissants, or serve on a bed of greens with melon and fruit on the side for a wonderful summer meal.

Chicken dijon

Chicken Dijon
A sort of dijon chicken casserole -- I want to make it all the time, it's so good. I originally just marinated chicken this way and put the bread crumbs on top, but this is so much better -- the bread crumbs bake into a stuffing consitency and its just delicious.
